Day One

Some of you have probably heard me expounding on the cool dude Seneca, a Stoic philosopher who lived around the time of the rumoured Son of God. I've got a small book of his writings with me here, and the following quote jumped out at me this morning on the plane:

"The world, you see, nature's greatest and most glorious creation, and the human mind which gazes and wonders at it, and is the most splendid part of it, these are our own everlasting posessions and will remain with us as long as we ourselves remain. So, eager and upright, let us hasten with bold steps wherever circumstances take us, and let us journey through any countries whatever: there can be no place of exile within the world...."

That is my motto on this, day one of my adventure!

Some general impressions/rememberances of London:

FUCK! Water! Water Pressure! Does it exist??
Soooo many trains. Which one to take?
Cars drvie on the other side: Look RIGHT or be squished.
British boys dress deliciously! Pinstriped suits! Mmmmm!
The world is very small: I recognize ALL songs on the radio....and all the fashions. *sigh*

But I digresss....I've just settled in to my hostel (called Palmers Lodge - lovely, lovely!) and am about to head out for a walkabout and a wander and....maybe Equus? I need to do some research! I am showing a good deal of clevage and wearing a lot of (lime green and black!) eye makeup.

Life, it is good right now.
I hope the same is true for you wherever you are!
